New Body Shop Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation Review
Hi lovelies,
Last week I was picking up a few bits from the Body Shop when the lady at the till told me about their recently launched cushion compact foundation. We'd been discussing the fact that, as someone with sensitive skin, it can be difficult to find a foundation that you can rely on and doesn't break you out. As I'm back at University, as much as I love my Nars Sheer Glow, I sometimes find it a bit too full coverage (not to mention expensive) for everyday wear, and was looking for something lighter.
I was recommended to try their recently launched cushion foundation, as it is specifically designed with sensitive skin in mind, and contains Aloe Vera to cool and soothe the skin. The cushion compact has become a serious beauty trend over the last few months, and it's finally made the jump from Korea to the UK high street.
Moving onto the product itself, I purchased the shade Fuji Peony 01. They only have 5 shades currently, which is a bit of a shame, but luckily for me this was a good match for my skin. I am quite fair myself, but if you have porcelain skin this is the lightest shade and could be a bit too dark. The packaging is monochromatic and sleek, and comes with the typical sponge/puff for application.
The online description promises 'a semi-matte finish' with a 'smooth coverage,' and I think it delivers this really effectively. As you open the compact the scent is really fresh (I'm assuming due to the Aloe Vera). After putting on primer (which works well with this foundation) I dabbed my sponge into the product about 3/4 times overall, and was able to achieve a good medium coverage. Personally, I think that this is more of a dewy foundation than semi-matte, but I love a good moisturising foundation in the colder months so this doesn't bother me at all. It seems that this would be really easy to pop into your bag and use for on the go touch ups throughout the day, as it clips shut and feels sturdy but lightweight.
Overall, I'm really impressed with this foundation and haven't experienced any abnormal breakouts since using it (hurrah!) If you're in the market for a new foundation, I highly recommend it.
