Colourpop x KathleenLights zodiac collection review (plus a few extra Colourpop goodies)
After watching the Kathleenlights x Colourpop zodiac collection reveal on Kathleen’s YouTube channel a few weeks ago, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a few of the items. The collaboration focuses on her love for astrology, and features a number of zodiac themed products.
Waiting patiently for the launch to drop, once it went live
I went ahead with my purchase and managed to get everything I wanted- hurrah! I
picked up the Zodiac Palette, the Constellation supernova shadow and the lux
lipstick in “What’s your sign?”
Whilst I was there, I also got a couple of bits outside of the collection, including super shock shadows in Lighning Bug and Coconut, a pressed powder cheek highlighter in the shade ‘Taffy’, the Mr Bing eyeliner, red head eyebrow pencil and an eyeshadow brush.

LUX LIPSTICK IN “WHAT’S YOUR SIGN?”
I’ve heard many rave reviews on the new(ish) Colourpop Lux
lip formula, and as a lipstick aficionado (if I may say so myself), it’s a good
formula, but it didn’t blow me away. In terms of the colour, ‘what’s your sign’
is a simple brown toned nude that would suit many skin tones. My only criticism
would be that this lipstick gives me the dreaded dry line on the inside of my
lip after an hour or so, but if you’re happy to take it with you and apply on
the go it’s not a big deal.
CONSTELLATION SUPERNOVA SHADOW
CONSTELLATION SUPERNOVA SHADOW
A rose gold liquid eye shadow that can be used to create so many different eye looks. I haven’t had much time to play with it yet, but I’m envisioning putting it in the centre of the lid to create a pretty and shimmery halo eye. Once the shadow sets in place (blend it quickly), it’s not budging!
PRESSED POWDER CHEEK HIGHLIGHTER IN “TAFFY”
Once again, I’m in love. This is a gorgeous peachy pink powder that could work as a blush or highlighter (or both)! If you’re looking for a cheek product to give a subtle flush and lots of lit-from-within glow this is the one.

SUPER SHOCK SHADOW IN LIGHTNING BUG AND COCONUT
I just adore the super shock shadows. They’re everything I want eye shadow to be: easy to use, quick to blend, pigmented and long lasting. I already have about ten other shades (should I do a collection blog post?) and they’re all very well loved. The cream to powder formula is a win in my book.

MR BING EYELINER, REDHEAD BROW PENCIL
Not too much to say about the eyeliner apart from that it’s
creamy and has good lasting power in the waterline. It’s a rather unique warm,
almost reddish, brown, which compliments blue eyes beautifully. As for the brow
pencil, suffice to say that it’s the only brow product I’ve used for a
fortnight. That being said, I would only get the precision brow pencil if you are used to
filling in your brows, as the thinness of the pencil means that it can go from
0-100 real quick! I have thick brows, so it’s just a case of filling in the
gaps, and this works perfectly. Those who aren’t used to doing their brows
might want to look at the brow boss pencils instead, as they’re meant to be more
buildable and beginner-friendly.
MEDIUM DOME BRUSH
MEDIUM DOME BRUSH
A good brush for packing on shadow (particularly the super
shock shadows) and does well in keeping the pigmentation on point when going
from shadow pan to lid.
Overall, I’m really pleased with my purchases, and think
that Kathleen has once again created an out-of-this-world (get it?) collab with
Colourpop. UK people, be aware that you might get stung with some extra costs in
the form of customs/duty fees. I don’t mind this too much, as the initial price
is very reasonable, but just something to take into consideration.
Have you tried any Colourpop products? If so, what’s your
favourite? Let me know in the comments!
